I’ve been working on new music, but I’ve also been coming up with album covers. Here are a few that I’m not going to use but are kinda cool.

If any band wants to use one of these, get at me and we’ll work something out.

Also, a reminder that you can get my music for free from my bandcamp.

NEW MUSIC: Here’s a remix I made of “Ragnarök,” a song by Pat Savage and my cousin Jarryd, collectively known as December’s Bear.

Some browsers don’t support Bandcamp’s embedded player, so click here if you’re having that problem.

“Murphy”

I kinda forgot that I put this house song I made as a bonus track for “Before”, so I was just listening to it and remembered how much work I put into it and realized that it’s actually a little bit cool. It has some good bass in parts, it’s danceable and I sing in it! I use the term “sing” loosely: I sung the sorta-spoken vocal weakly and lathered it in effects and pitch changes (which sometimes sound like autotune which I kinda like here) to hide the fact that I’m not a singer at all. They sound pretty cool in the song, though.

I was big into Daft Punk’s “Alive 2007” album when I made this, so that influence is apparent (to me, anyway). I actually started trying to emulate LCD Soundsystem (which, along with the fact that I’m bad at naming songs, is why the track is named after James Murphy), but as it started to sound more and more like Daft Punk, I went with it.

So check her out and click through my tumblr page to see what else I’ve been up to. Thanks a have a good one.

NEW SONG “We Will Parade” (Justice vs Queen mash-up)

I was listening to “Parade” by Justice the other day and noticed it has the exact same beat at “We Will Rock You,” so about an hour or so ago, I decided to mash the songs up and here we are. I didn’t do much beyond laying the Queen vocal on the Justice song. I know Queen mashups have been done and done again, but it’d my first mashup and it’s the easiest place to start. The result is simple but effective, I think.

Click above to listen or click here to listen and download on Bandcamp. I’ve added a link to the discography section of this site as well.

05-30 update

I don’t know if I’ve been promoting “Before” better than I did the first album or if it’s just better, but it’s been getting a lot more downloads than the first album did.

“A lot more” is relative… we’re on a pretty small scale here. Since its release on August 1, 2011, “We Will Be Content” has been downloaded 9 times. Since its release on May 15, 2012, “Before” has been downloaded 7 times.

That’s about 0.03 downloads per day for “WWBC,” compared to 0.5 per day for “Before.” For me, that’s a success. It’s nice to see my stuff getting a small bit of exposure and it’s nice knowing that some people enjoy it. It’s weird to think We Will Be Content is an artist in a few iTunes libraries out there (it sits between We Are Scientists and Weezer in mine).

Thanks for being here and if you haven’t heard my music yet, I’ve linked to both albums in the first paragraph of this post. Alright, have a good one.

Video for “Before”

Second video from the album, “Before,” which is available for free download now.

We Will Be Content: "Before" - *out now*

If you haven’t already, check out the new album. It’s been played and downloaded a few times already, so thanks to whoever liked it. It’s free, so checking it out is a low-risk-high-reward move.

05-18 update

Since the release of “Before” on the 15th (download), two people have downloaded it, so whoever you are, thank you very much for liking what I got going on here. It’s awesome to know that somebody enjoys it.

I’ll be uploading another music video soon, probably today, so be aware of that as well.

Lastly, I’ve been maintaining a tumblr page called RockDocs, where I’ve been posting full-length concerts and music documentaries for the past few months. If you think that sounds cool, check out the site and follow it.

If you like, also check out the album I made last year and the EP I put out in April, all of which are free (well, they’re pay what you want, so go ahead and enter $0 or give me a few bucks if you think I’ve earned it)

I’ll likely release another music video tomorrow or soon after, but in the meantime, check out the first track, “Power”:

05-15 update (“Before” release day)

Hey all. I’m putting the finishing touches on the album now and it’ll be online later today. I’m really proud of the way it ended up, and I think/hope you’ll like it. My cousin Jarryd plays some real nice guitar on one of the songs I finished last night, so you’ll have that to look forward to.

Check for the album later today at wewillbecontent.bandcamp.com.

I may also upload another music video today.
