I don’t know if I’ve been promoting “Before” better than I did the first album or if it’s just better, but it’s been getting a lot more downloads than the first album did.

“A lot more” is relative… we’re on a pretty small scale here. Since its release on August 1, 2011, “We Will Be Content” has been downloaded 9 times. Since its release on May 15, 2012, “Before” has been downloaded 7 times.

That’s about 0.03 downloads per day for “WWBC,” compared to 0.5 per day for “Before.” For me, that’s a success. It’s nice to see my stuff getting a small bit of exposure and it’s nice knowing that some people enjoy it. It’s weird to think We Will Be Content is an artist in a few iTunes libraries out there (it sits between We Are Scientists and Weezer in mine).

As you may or may not have gathered from the blurred screenshot, I’m working on a music video.

Actually, I’m working on two, for two songs from the upcoming album (still unnamed, still scheduled for a summer release)

side note about the release date: If everything is done by August 1, I think it’d be cool to have the second album released exactly a year after the first one, so that’s what I’m going to shoot for. Then again, the album’s pretty darn close to done, so it might be sooner than that.

Also, I came up with something a few nights ago that may be the basis of a new song that I’m going to try making using only sounds from my mouth. I’ll modify them however I wish, but it’s gotta start from the mouth. If that fails, I still have some parts of it I can use in a different context that’ll sound great.

I think I’ll only do two videos, unless I get a great idea that I think is doable.

I started one video earlier this week, but I started working on the second one last night and it’s already dang close to done. It’s a simple idea, but I think it looks great and fits the music well. I’m digging the second video a lot more than the first right now, probably because it’s much closer to completion at the moment.

Neither of the videos have footage shot by me; everything is found footage (from Archive.org or YouTube), much like Lana Del Rey… ehh, I know how much the Internet hates her, so I’ll distance myself from that.

I have a new song (currently called “Song 42,” but that’s gonna change) that is just about in its final form, and I’m pretty excited about it. It’ll be one of the best ones on the album, if not the best.

Good news is I feel like the album, still unnamed, is about a song or two away from feeling done to me. I have a few ideas I’ve been developing, so I expect to hit my self-imposed summer release date.
